Wellbeing

The Wildings is the ideal location to support your wellbeing. Whether you want some peaceful time in our newly planted woodland area, taking notice of the beautiful surrounding; or if you want to join in a Wellbeing Walk with our goats or alpacas, keeping active and connecting with the animals; or teaching another participant new skills - we are here to allow and support you to flourish, using nature to nurture your mental health.
Connect
Connect with nature, animals and like-minded people and help build a sense of belonging. Share an interest and positive experiences and have the opportunity to both offer and receive support.

Be Active
Being active is not only great for physical health and fitness, but for mental wellness as well. It can reduce anxiety by raising self esteem and changing chemicals in your brain to help positively change your mood.

Keep Learning
A lifestyle that values learning is associated with positive mental health. At The Wildings, you can learn a new skill or rediscover a previous interest - maybe you'll learn the feeding requirements of sheep or how to identify plants?

Give
Acts of kindness and helping or volunteering create positive feelings and a sense of reward, helping improve mental wellbeing. It can also help you connect with others by giving your time to our projects at The Wildings.

Take Notice
Mindfulness, or taking notice of the present moment can help develop a better understanding of yourself and allow you to approach challenges with a positive mindset. Noticing the simple joys in nature is a powerful route to mindfulness.
